Samaritan's Purse is seeking a

Media Relations Coordinator

to join our team at our International Headquarters location in

Boone, NC.

You can be a part of a highly professional communication team. As

Media Relations Coordinator,

you will interface with the media relations staff and partners to develop and implement media strategy, provide information, and coordinate interviews with Samaritan's Purse staff. Come and use your gifts daily to advance the Gospel!

A day in the life of a Media Relations Coordinator:

At Samaritans Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff, and volunteers who serve around the globe.

In the role of

Media Relations Coordinator,

you will have the opportunity to:

Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him

Monitor project activity to develop creative, relevant story angels for presentation to local, regional, national, and international media outlets

Provide talking points for Samaritan's Purse staff before media interviews

Communicate with media outlets, particularly local and regional media to pitch stories for Samaritan's Purse's projects

Write press releases, media alerts, and other documents for final review by the Executive Vice President

Assist affiliate offices in coordinating interviews with field staff and volunteers as needed

Obtain the necessary approvals for staff interviews

Reviews media clips and provides feedback to staff

Serves as a spokesperson for Samaritans Purse when necessary

Promote Samaritan's Purse activities including emergency relief, Operations Christmas Child, Operation Heal Our Patriots, Children's Heart Project, World Medical Missions, and other relief and evangelism efforts worldwide

Provide talking points for Samaritans Purse staff before media interviews

Bachelor's degree(B.A) from a four-year college or university; and two(2) to three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Strong ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style

Comfortable making effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to management, public groups, and/or board of directors

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals

12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.

Travel Expectations:

80 days/annually; required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary
