Crescent Energy is seeking an

Asset Development Manager – Utah

to lead the subsurface understanding and development strategy for the company’s Uinta Basin position while expanding economically competitive inventory across the asset.

This role will help build Crescent’s independent view of the subsurface across the Utah asset, integrating geology, reservoir engineering, drilling & completions, and production data to improve development outcomes and identify opportunities to expand running room across under-tested zones and stacked intervals.

Working closely with Drilling & Completions, Operations, and corporate teams, the Asset Development Manager will ensure subsurface insight is translated into disciplined development decisions—from spacing and completion design to development sequencing and recovery improvement.

The position reports to the VP, Asset Development and leads an integrated team of reservoir engineers, geoscientists, and technical staff responsible for development planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Lead development strategy for the Utah asset

Own and continuously evolve the multi-year development plan for Crescent’s Utah position

Integrate geology, reservoir engineering, drilling & completions, and economics into a clear and executable development strategy

Ensure technical insights are framed within disciplined economic analysis to support capital allocation decisions

Expand and mature development inventory

Identify opportunities across under-tested zones and stacked pay intervals within the asset

Mature the most compelling opportunities into development concepts supported by integrated technical work and economic validation

Advance pilots or targeted tests where appropriate to improve understanding of recovery, spacing, and development potential

Improve capital efficiency and development outcomes

Work with drilling, completions, and operations teams to improve development performance and cost structure

Evaluate spacing, completion design, development sequencing, and recovery improvement opportunities

Ensure technical innovation is grounded in repeatable development practices and clear commercial outcomes

Apply integrated workflows across the development lifecycle

Skilled across different stages of development—concept screening, appraisal, and full-field development—and able to deploy different technical approaches for each stage

Skilled in a multiple analysis approaches including (e.g. resource quantification, physics based approaches and modern data analytics)

Integrate subsurface interpretation with operational data and economic evaluation to support consistent development planning

Lead and develop the asset development team

Lead a multidisciplinary team including reservoir engineers, geoscientists, and technical staff

Foster a culture of integration, creativity, and economically framed decision making

Build team capability and support recruiting as the Utah asset evolves

Maintain awareness of basin activity and development trends

Track competitor development strategies and emerging concepts across the Uinta Basin

Translate external insights into practical learnings that strengthen Crescent’s development approach

Qualifications

B.S. or M.S. in Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, or related discipline

~10–15+ years of upstream oil and gas experience with significant exposure to unconventional resource development

Experience integrating subsurface, drilling & completions, and economic evaluation into development planning

Demonstrated ability to expand or improve development inventory through disciplined technical and commercial analysis

Experience working with stacked-pay systems (Permian and/or Rockies experience a plus)

Track record of leading multidisciplinary technical teams and influencing development decisions

Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical insight into clear business decisions
