Director of Family Engagement, Alpha - $200,000/year USD

Crossover, Santa Barbara, CA, United States

Santa Barbara families shape educational trends rather than follow them.

Alpha is opening a campus in one of California's most discerning, network‑oriented communities. This is not a conventional private school competing on facilities. Students complete their core academics in two concentrated hours through AI‑powered learning platforms, dedicating the remainder of their day to developing public speaking abilities, critical reasoning, and practical execution skills. The outcomes position students in the top 1% nationally. The approach is proven. The challenge lies in building trust locally.

From year zero through year one, this position centers on ground‑up enrollment leadership. In Santa Barbara, success requires building credibility within close‑knit social networks where reputation accumulates and errors persist. You will design intimate information sessions, conduct private campus visits, engage families in individual meetings, and deliberately assemble the founding cohort. After enrollment goals are met and an admissions director is onboarded, your role transitions to become the campus's chief parent relations leader, maintaining alignment and converting satisfied families into advocates within their circles.

This work transcends transactional selling. It demands trust‑building at an elite level. You must establish credibility with families who have access to any educational option nationally and who anticipate substantive responses to challenging questions regarding AI integration, screen exposure, and future outcomes. A single misaligned family can disrupt a 25‑student cohort. Selective enrollment is essential.

If building something exceptional in a market that values refinement, discretion, and measurable results appeals to you, this opportunity awaits.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Direct the complete enrollment process from initial inquiry through signed enrollment agreements until 25 students are confirmed
  • Design and lead curated information sessions and exclusive tours that attract ideal families while filtering out mismatched candidates
  • Establish credibility and relationships through consistent in‑person networking, individual consultations, and strategic community alliances throughout Santa Barbara
  • Function as the principal point of contact for families, providing personalized, white‑glove service
  • Communicate and justify Alpha's AI‑driven educational model to discerning, questioning parents with clarity and confidence

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Maintaining standard 9–5 office hours; flexibility across mornings, afternoons, and selected evenings is necessary
  • Depending on an extensive admissions or marketing infrastructure to generate leads
  • Admitting every candidate to meet enrollment targets; safeguarding cohort integrity takes precedence over quantity
  • Remaining office‑based; this position demands regular physical presence throughout the community
