Join Multnomah County as a **Senior Database Administrator (DBA)** to lead our transition from on-premise servers to a modern cloud architecture. We are seeking a technical lead to ensure our data systems are secure, optimized, and ready for the future. ****Please read the Minimum Qualifications for all of the requirements for this position.********A team player:**** * 5 years of experience in IT development and database administration. (Equivalency 9 years of qualifying training and/or experience).* **This position requires specialized knowledge. You must demonstrate that you have (KSAs) skills listed below.******Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):***** Advanced knowledge of or skill in Azure Cloud (Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, Azure Boards, etc).* Working knowledge of or skill with Snowflake.* Advanced knowledge of or skill with Business Intelligence Data Marts, and Data Warehousing, including design and best practices.* Advanced experience working with developers to build ETLs for loading data for reporting.* Advanced knowledge of or skill with database logging tools (Ex: Idera, RedGate Monitor, Splunk, etc.).* Working knowledge or skill with BI reporting platforms, functionality, and tools (Tableau and Tableau Server, Power BI and Power BI Report Server, SSRS, etc.).* Advanced knowledge in installing, performance tuning, maintaining, securing, and administering an on prem MS SQL Server database and Cloud environments.* Working knowledge in installing, performance tuning, maintaining, securing, and administering a MS Integration Services (SSIS) environment.* Working knowledge of security, authorization, and authentication in Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Entra ID.* Working knowledge of MS SQL Server and Azure cloud backup and recovery design and implementation.* Basic knowledge of networking and firewall concepts.* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server administration.* Basic knowledge of SAN/NAS Storage management and concepts.* Basic knowledge of virtualization technology using MS Windows Hyper-V or VMWare.* Basic knowledge of MS Windows Server high availability technologies Application Development, architectures, languages, and/or tools.* Advanced knowledge of RDBMS management tools including MS SQL Server Management Studio.* Working knowledge of or skill in developing on a SQL Server platform using Transact SQL (T-SQL) including stored procedures, query plans, functions, views, indexes, and triggers.* Working knowledge of or skill in database modeling, data conversion, and ETL tools, such as SSIS.* Basic knowledge of Administrative Scripting (C#, WMI, PowerShell, Rs Utility, MSBuild).* Initial review of minimum qualifications.* Assessment of candidates, which may include a review of training by a subject matter expert, a technical screening interview or exam.* Consideration of top candidates, which may include panel interviews and a final hiring interview.* Reference and background checks for finalists.The official work location is the Multnomah Building, 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd., Portland, OR 97214.****Work Location:**** ****Equal Pay Law:**** Please be advised that the pay range listed for this position is intended to provide general guidance on the earning potential for the role.
