
Mechanical Designer

Overview
The Mechanical Designer is responsible for the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies, supporting new product development and manufacturing. This role includes CAD modeling, drawing release, and collaboration across cross-functional teams to drive product performance, quality, and cost improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components and subassemblies; release engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM) using Engineering Change Management processes
Create and manage 3D CAD models, including electrical and pneumatic harness routing
Develop and maintain large, multi-CAD assemblies and layouts for complex systems
Generate detailed production drawings in compliance with ASME standards and GD&T requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product engineering, program management, manufacturing, field service, and supply chain to support the full design lifecycle
Participate in design reviews and ensure designs meet manufacturability, performance, and cost targets
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and reduce cost
Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions
Design, conduct, and support experiments and testing for new and existing products
Analyze data, generate reports, and provide engineering recommendations
Assist in prototype development, validation, and pre-production release documentation
Support sustaining engineering and field-related issues as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar
Experience with mechanical design, including sheet metal, machined parts, and casting processes
Knowledge of electrical and pneumatic routing within mechanical systems
Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, design methodologies, and product development processes
Proficiency in GD&T, welding symbols, surface finish standards, and ASME drafting standards
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
Experience & Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Relevant experience in mechanical design and product development (entry to mid-level depending on role scope)
Experience in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or similar high-tech industries is a plus
