Position Overview The

Heavy-Duty Scale Technician

is responsible for servicing a variety of industrial and commercial scale systems, both in the field and at customer sites. This role requires mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and efficiently. Work is performed in diverse environments, including outdoor job sites, industrial facilities, and occasionally in challenging weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, calibrate, and repair heavy-duty truck and industrial scales.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues.

Use specialized tools, calibration weights, and diagnostic equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Operate vehicles and equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and lifting devices as required.

Document service activities, calibration results, and maintenance records with precision.

Communicate clearly with customers, project managers, and internal team members.

Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a professional work ethic on all job sites.

Manage time effectively to complete projects efficiently and meet service deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail; quality-focused mindset.

Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 lbs.

Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and industrial environments.

Proficiency with basic hand tools; ability to operate skid steers or similar equipment is preferred.

Excellent problem-solving skills

with the ability to assess and resolve issues independently.

Strong communication and customer-service skills.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Must currently hold a

CDL (Class A

or

B

with

air brake endorsement ) or be

willing and able to obtain one.

Clean driving record required.

Willingness to travel regionally with occasional overnight stays.

Availability for occasional weekend work; standard schedule is Monday-Friday.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical/electrical repair, or scale service.

Familiarity with

NIST Handbook 44

and

weighing system standards.

Background in construction, heavy equipment, or field service roles.
