Overview
Morningstar Golfers Club, a high-volume semi-private facility located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, is seeking a highly motivated and service-oriented Assistant Golf Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will play an integral role in delivering an exceptional golf experience to both members and public guests.
This position offers the opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in all areas of golf operations, including daily play management, tournament administration, instruction, and merchandising. Morningstar hosts over 35,000 rounds annually and conducts more than 70 events each season, providing a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
The ideal candidate is a PGA Associate or aspiring PGA Professional with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a passion for growing the game.
Essential Responsibilities Golf Operations
Deliver exceptional customer service to members and guests
Manage daily tee sheet operations, including check-in and pace of play
Execute opening and closing procedures of the golf shop
Maintain a professional and organized golf shop environment
Tournament Operations
Assist in the execution of member events, leagues, and outside outings
Support tournament setup, scoring, and results using golf software systems
Ensure a high-quality experience for all participants
Instruction
Provide private and group instruction to golfers of all skill levels
Assist with junior golf programming, clinics, and camps
Utilize teaching technology (TrackMan, video analysis) to enhance instruction
Merchandising
Assist with inventory control, merchandising, and retail sales
Maintain appealing product displays and promote golf shop merchandise
Stay informed on current equipment and apparel trends
Team & Facility Support
Collaborate with outside services staff to ensure a seamless daily operation
Assist in training and supervision of part-time staff
Uphold the standards and presentation of the facility
Professional Development
Actively pursue PGA of America education and advancement
Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions
Contribute positively to the team culture and overall operation
