Mechanical Designer (SolidWorks)
I3 INFOTEK INC, Arizona City, AZ, United States
Certification in SolidWorks is mandatory
JD:
Key Responsibilities
SolidWorks Modeling & Drafting : Create parametric parts, drawings, and
complex/large assemblies , apply configurations, design tables, weldments, sheet‑metal, and surfacing features. Generate production drawings with GD&T and clear manufacturing notes.
Large‑Assembly Ownership : Build and maintain assemblies with thousands of components using
Large Design Review ,
Lightweight
&
SpeedPak
techniques, simplified reps, envelopes, display states, and performance profiling; drive stability and load‑time improvements for daily use by engineering and manufacturing.
PLM (Teamcenter) : Manage ECR/ECO/ECN workflows, maintain
EBOM/MBOM
structures, revision/baseline control, effectivity, and release‑to‑manufacturing; coordinate Teamcenter integrations with downstream systems per program needs.
Design for Manufacturability & Quality : Execute tolerance stack‑ups, apply ASME Y14‑series GD&T, and incorporate DFM/DFA practices, resolve build issues with production, test, and quality. Support prototypes and incorporate test feedback into design updates.
Reviews & Compliance : Participate in design reviews ensure adherence to internal standards and applicable codes/requirements for the product line.
Required Qualifications
6+ years
mechanical design with strong
SolidWorks
proficiency across parts, drawings,
large assemblies , sheet‑metal, weldments, and configurations.
Certification is SolidWorks is preferred.
Demonstrated experience
optimizing large assemblies
(Large Design Review, Lightweight, SpeedPak, simplified geometry) in production environments.
Hands‑on
Teamcenter
experience: item/master creation, EBOM/MBOM, revisioning, and
ECR/ECO
workflow execution.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (sheet‑metal, machining, fabrication) and ASME drawing standards with GD&T.
Effective communicator with high attention to detail; able to work independently with cross‑functional teams.
