Program Overview RIVA Solutions supports the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Strategic Communications mission by delivering comprehensive visual information, multimedia production, and digital engagement services. This effort enables effective internal and external communications aligned with Department of Defense (DoD) Public Affairs standards and DHA branding requirements.
The program focuses on developing mission‑driven communications products across multiple platforms, including digital media, leadership messaging, virtual events, podcasts, photography, and enterprise visual asset management.
Position Overview RIVA Solutions is seeking a Graphic Artist / Multimedia Specialist to support DHA Strategic Communications at Fort Detrick, MD.
This role provides comprehensive graphic design, multimedia production, content development, and digital engagement support to enhance DHA’s internal and external communication initiatives. The ideal candidate brings creative expertise combined with an understanding of federal Public Affairs standards, DoD communication policies, and multimedia production best practices.
The successful candidate will collaborate with communication and engagement specialists to develop high‑quality visual and multimedia products that clearly communicate mission objectives across diverse audiences.
Core Responsibilities Graphic Design & Visual Communications
Develop high‑quality graphic design products for publications, reports, briefings, presentations, and engagement materials
Create visually compelling layouts, infographics, and branded communication assets
Ensure all visual products align with DoD and DHA style guidelines and branding standards
Content Development & Digital Media
Draft, edit, and distribute written content for publications and digital platforms including websites, social media, and email communications
Apply AP Style, DoD/DHA guidance, and Public Affairs policies to ensure clarity, compliance, and accuracy
Translate technical and programmatic information into audience‑appropriate messaging
Multimedia Production
Produce and edit videos, graphics, animations, and digital media for use across websites, webinars, social media, and executive briefings
Optimize multimedia content for compatibility across mobile, desktop, and presentation platforms
Record and produce leadership and program‑related video content for approved distribution channels
Video Production & Compliance
Coordinate filming activities and secure required permissions and release forms
Conduct Operational Security (OPSEC) reviews on all multimedia products to ensure compliance with DoD policies
Upload approved visual information products and captions to the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service (DVIDS)
Maintain organized storage and archival of multimedia assets
Webinars & Virtual Event Support
Plan, coordinate, and execute virtual events using platforms such as Microsoft Teams
Provide technical setup and live facilitation support for webinars supporting up to 1,000 participants
Manage live chat, Q&A sessions, and attendee engagement
Podcast Production
Develop podcast scripts, coordinate interviews, record sessions, and conduct post‑production editing
Publish podcast episodes aligned with DHA communication strategies
Maintain organized cataloging of podcast recordings and related assets
Photography & Asset Management
Provide event photography support (onsite and remote)
Edit and prepare photographs for publication
Maintain structured storage and archival of photographic assets
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Communications, or related field
Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in graphic design, multimedia production, or communications
Experience developing digital and multimedia content in a structured or regulated environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DoD, DHA, or federal Public Affairs environments
Familiarity with DVIDS and visual information submission processes
Knowledge of Operational Security (OPSEC) requirements and compliance reviews
Experience producing podcasts and managing multimedia content libraries
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment
Salary Salary: $90,000 a year plus benefits
