We are seeking a
Business Development Representative
to drive referral growth for a leading dual-diagnosis behavioral health treatment provider. This role is ideal for a well-connected professional within the behavioral health space who brings an
existing book of business
and a proven ability to generate
organic referrals . We are looking for someone actively working in the Maryland market. The ideal candidate understands the nuances of
out-of-network (OON)
treatment models and is comfortable educating referral partners, families, and providers on the value of high-quality clinical care. Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong referral relationships with: Hospitals, detox/residential programs, and outpatient providers Therapists, case managers, and private practices Community organizations and recovery networks Leverage an
existing book of business
to drive consistent admissions growth Generate new referral sources through outreach, networking, and field engagement Educate partners on programming, clinical offerings, and OON benefits Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and community initiatives Track outreach efforts and referral activity within CRM systems Collaborate with Admissions and Clinical teams to ensure seamless client transitions Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitors, and payer dynamics Qualifications
2+ years of experience in behavioral health treatment (SUD and/or mental health) Existing
book of business
with active referral relationships Proven track record of generating
organic admissions/referrals Experience working with or referring to
out-of-network (OON)
providers Strong knowledge of levels of care (Detox, Residential, PHP, IOP, OP) Ability to travel throughout Maryland Preferred
Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) Relationship-building and networking Strategic thinking and market development Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to work independently in a field-based role
