Social Media & Community Engagement Intern (Volunteer) Organization: Redlands Charitable Resource Coalition (RCRC) Location: Redlands, CA (Hybrid / Remote options available) Time Commitment: Approximately 3 hours per week Compensation: $100 per month Internship Opportunity About Redlands Charitable Resource Coalition Redlands Charitable Resource Coalition (RCRC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the local community through charitable initiatives, community partnerships, and programs that support individuals and families in need. Through projects such as community book sales, silent auctions, and volunteer initiatives, RCRC helps create meaningful connections and opportunities for community engagement. Position Overview RCRC is seeking a motivated Social Media & Community Engagement Intern to help strengthen our online presence and connect with the local community. This role is ideal for a student or early-career professional interested in nonprofit marketing, communications, digital media, or community engagement . The intern will help curate engaging social media content, support volunteer communications, and promote community events while gaining hands-on experience managing nonprofit social media platforms. Key Responsibilities Help manage and monitor RCRC social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram Assist with scheduled posts, stories, sharing, and community engagement Respond to comments and messages and help maintain a positive online presence Support the promotion of events Assist in developing short-form video content and engaging posts Collaborate with volunteers to post pre-designed materials Track basic engagement metrics and provide feedback on post performance Help identify opportunities to increase volunteer participation and community partnerships Assist with basic graphic design, photography, or short video editing when needed What You’ll Gain Real-world experience managing social media for a nonprofit organization Hands-on exposure to digital marketing strategy and community engagement Opportunities to build a portfolio of social media and marketing content Experience working with nonprofit leadership and volunteers Professional references and networking opportunities in the Redlands community Ideal Candidate Interest in social media marketing, communications, nonprofit work, or community engagement Familiarity with Instagram and Facebook platforms Creative, organized, and proactive Basic knowledge of Canva, video editing, or social media analytics is a plus Strong communication skills and attention to detail Passion for supporting community initiatives Schedule & Work Style Flexible schedule Mostly remote with occasional in-person opportunities at events in Redlands How to Apply Interested candidates should submit a short message describing their interest along with a resume (if available).
