The CalSTRS Investments Branch is seeking an Analyst II to join the Private Markets team. The Investments Branch manages the portfolio for California’s public education system, with assets totaling several hundred billion dollars, and supports an inclusive work environment. Under the direction of the Portfolio Manager, the Analyst II provides essential analytical support and project coordination. The role is critical to ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the Private Markets asset classes, performing complex, varied technical and analytical duties with a high degree of independence and tact. Responsibilities

Provide analytical support and project coordination within the Private Markets team. Assist in day-to-day operations of Private Markets asset classes to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Prepare analyses, findings, conclusions, and recommendations with clear documentation. Collaborate across teams to streamline administrative processes and support senior leadership. Review and analyze material for accuracy and consistency. Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

Analyst II Demonstrated ability to support senior leadership and executives. Experience developing and maintaining document management systems to ensure confidentiality and accessibility. Strong written and verbal communication for clear, concise analyses and recommendations. Ability to work well in a team and across departments to improve processes. Strong organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Ability to research, organize, analyze, and interpret company policies. Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines under strict time constraints. Salary and Career Details

Salary ranges noted: $6,031.00 – $7,547.00. New-to-State candidates may be hired at the classification minimum or alternate range minimum when applicable. Salary increases of 5% may be provided annually based on performance until the maximum is reached. In July 2025, a Personal Leave Program (PLP 2025) may reduce base pay by 3% in exchange for leave credits for the duration of the program. The posted salary does not reflect PLP adjustments. This position requires a current Analyst II examination and eligibility or certification as applicable. CalSTRS Personal Trading Program requires disclosure of personal trading accounts and use of a designated broker. Background investigation will be conducted prior to employment, including fingerprinting and verification of education and records. This position may be subject to disclosure requirements concerning economic conflicts of interest and adherence to the Conflict of Interest Code and the Political Reform Act.
