Schedule:
7:30 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday–Friday. Our earliest sites open at 7:30 AM; our latest site closes at 6:00 PM. Normally it is 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Requires pediatric and geriatric experience
Notes:
Float position; will be traveling to locations within Wichita area. Could start as early as 7:00 AM and some locations close at 7:30 PM, so candidates will need to be available from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM depending on the shift they are covering.
Other:
Requires a clean driving record.
Position Responsibilities
Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture (blood drawing) and/or other specimen collection (e.g., urine or fecal) as required.
Demonstrates technique(s) using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understands all of the physicians' orders.
Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
Lab tasks: label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order; check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure accuracy; package specimens for transport.
Stores specimen samples according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, accurately labels, and follows protocol for transport to maintain specimen integrity.
Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
Attend annual department trainings.
Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed, as required in some states.
Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
High School Diploma or GED.
1-2+ years of experience.
