Position Summary
Senior Director of Field Operations
(Reports to VP of Operations)
The Senior Director of Field Operations is responsible for leading the company's entire delivery engine, including Project Management, Field Execution, Scheduling, and Labor Utilization. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, and at target gross margin while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
This leader owns operational accountability from project handoff through final completion.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:
Lead and oversee Project Management and Field Execution teams; Establish alignment between scope, schedule, labor planning, and execution; Eliminate cross-functional silos and drive accountability across departments; Develop and enforce standardized delivery processes
Financial & Margin Ownership:
Own delivered net profit experience through implementing cost control measures; Monitor labor cost as a percentage of revenue (standard labor); Identify and correct margin erosion drivers (scope creep, labor overruns, scheduling inefficiencies); Partner with the VP of Operations on forecasting and capacity planning
Project Delivery Performance:
Ensure on-time project completion; Oversee workload balancing across PMs and field teams; Improve contractor utilization strategy; Drive continuous improvement in execution speed and quality
Team Development:
Develop high-performing leaders within PM and Field teams; Mentor Director of Field Execution; Oversee Project Manager development; Build succession planning and leadership depth; Establish clear KPIs and accountability systems
Client & Escalation Oversight:
Support major client escalations; Ensure delivery excellence aligns with brand standards; Partner cross-functionally with Sales and Executive Leadership

Qualifications
Valid North Carolina Driver's License
Minimum 7 Years related experience preferred
Proven organizational and follow through skills required
Proven leadership ability skills required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to work after normal business hours as needed to support the team and meet customer expectations.
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
