Northern Virginia Region • Full-Time, Remote • Company Vehicle Provided Company: Property Field Claims Representative Northern Virginia Region • Full-Time, Remote • Company Vehicle Provided Location Covering the counties of Fairfax, Loudon, Prince William, Fauquier, Stafford, Culpeper, and Rappahannock Schedule Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Company Car Provided with gas, insurance & maintenance Compensation Full-time salaried with comprehensive benefits WHAT YOU’LL DO You’ll be the face of Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance in the field, owning the full lifecycle of property and liability claims for our members. Your day-to-day will include: Investigate and assess property losses assigned to Virginia Farm Bureau members, visiting sites and gathering all relevant facts. Evaluate and estimate damages using photos, measurements, Xactimate, and other industry-leading platforms. Deliver prompt, fair claim settlements in line with company policies and standards — keeping members informed every step of the way. Identify and advise the Underwriting team on potential risk concerns. Mentor and support fellow claims personnel when called upon. Maintain thorough, timely documentation on all claim files. WHAT YOU BRING To hit the ground running, you’ll need: A college degree or equivalent professional experience in the insurance industry. Minimum 2 years of property insurance claims experience (5+ years preferred). Proficiency in Xactimate and a solid understanding of building components and construction. Strong investigation, negotiation, and settlement skills — you know how to get to a fair resolution efficiently. Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to members. High emotional intelligence — you lead with empathy and professionalism even in difficult conversations. Sharp organizational skills and the self-motivation to manage a dynamic field caseload independently. Commitment to earning your AIC, CPCU, or SCLA designation within 3 years of hire (if not already obtained). Bonus Points For: Experience handling casualty insurance claims. This is a field-based position covering Fairfax, Loudon, Prince William, Fauquier, Stafford, Culpeper, and Rappahannock. Candidates must reside in or near the listed territory.
