General Description The
Director of Project Management
is responsible for overseeing and directing all project management activities, ensuring efficient execution, budget compliance, and alignment with company objectives. This role involves managing project teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring that projects are completed
on time, within scope, and on budget . The Director works closely with
executive leadership, project managers, engineers, and field teams
to drive success across all company projects.
Key Duties Project Oversight & Execution
Provide
leadership and strategic direction
for all project management functions.
Oversee
contract review, cost management, and project scheduling .
Ensure
project teams follow best practices
in execution, reporting, and safety compliance.
Monitor
progress, quality control, and compliance with construction documents .
Conduct
job site inspections
to verify adherence to project plans and safety protocols.
Budgeting & Financial Management
Collaborate with finance and executive leadership to
develop and manage project budgets .
Ensure
cost tracking, job costing, and profitability analysis
for each project.
Approve
purchase orders, subcontracts, and scope changes .
Identify
cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements .
Directly manage
project managers and project support staff .
Facilitate
regular project status meetings , providing leadership and guidance.
Communicate professionally with
owners, subcontractors, engineers, and stakeholders .
Support
employee development, training, and performance evaluation .
Risk & Compliance Management
Identify
potential risks
and implement strategies to mitigate them.
Ensure adherence to
company policies, safety regulations, and contract requirements .
Review
change orders, RFIs, and submittals
to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Maintain
accurate project documentation and reporting .
Qualification Requirements Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field required .
10+ years of experience
in project management, with at least
5 years in a leadership role .
Experience managing
large‑scale construction projects
from planning to completion.
Strong
leadership and strategic planning
abilities.
Advanced knowledge of
construction project management, budgeting, and scheduling .
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and financial reporting tools .
Excellent
communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills .
Ability to manage
multiple projects simultaneously
while ensuring quality and efficiency.
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting
at a desk and working on a computer.
Frequent
walking, standing, and occasional lifting
of materials up to
25 pounds .
Ability to
visit construction sites , requiring walking on uneven terrain and exposure to outdoor conditions.
Office-based role
with
regular site visits .
Exposure to
construction sites, noise, dust, and heavy equipment
during site inspections.
