
Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Position Overview
As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in an urgent care setting, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver personalized care plans, guide therapeutic exercises, and encourage patients throughout their recovery journey. Your focus will be on rehabilitation, functional recovery, and safe return to work and daily life for patients with workers' compensation and auto accident injuries.
Primary Responsibilities
Carry out prescribed physical therapy programs under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. Assist in rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries common in workers' compensation and auto accident cases. Monitor and document patient progress and response to therapy. Instruct patients on proper exercises and use of therapeutic equipment. Collaborate with urgent care providers regarding patient progress and any concerns. Ensure thorough and accurate documentation compliant with insurance (work comp/auto) standards. Educate patients on home exercise programs and injury prevention techniques. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy area. Participate in team meetings and case reviews as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program. Current state licensure (or eligibility) as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Current CPR/BLS certification. Prior experience with orthopedic injuries, workers' compensation, or auto accidents preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented urgent care environment.
