Isles of Boynton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated
Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
to join our rehabilitation team. In this role, you will work closely with the Physical Therapist to deliver individualized therapy services that promote healing, restore mobility, and enhance independence for our residents.
Overview The PTA provides hands-on physical therapy services in accordance with physician orders and established care plans. You will play a key role in helping residents regain strength, mobility, and confidence while ensuring their safety and comfort throughout treatment.
Responsibilities
Provide physical therapy services in therapy areas or resident rooms as needed
Prepare treatment areas and equipment prior to therapy sessions
Explain procedures clearly and compassionately to residents
Assist with resident transportation to and from therapy sessions
Demonstrate proper use of assistive devices (wheelchairs, canes, crutches, braces, prosthetics, etc.) to residents and nursing staff
Support ambulatory training and hydrotherapy under the direction of the Physical Therapist
Apply therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, diathermy, infrared, massage, and therapeutic exercises as directed
Monitor and document resident responses to treatment and report concerns promptly
Maintain accurate treatment records, progress notes, and billing documentation
Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Assist with training new therapy staff and coordinate services with other departments
Report any occupational exposures or safety concerns to supervisors
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
Current, active, and unencumbered Florida PTA license
Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team environment
Knowledge of skilled nursing facility regulations and long-term care guidelines
Strong communication and documentation skills
