About the Role
The Vice President for Advancement will be responsible for leading and executing a comprehensive advancement strategy to grow philanthropic revenue, expand donor and partner engagement, and strengthen the organization’s long-term financial sustainability. This includes overseeing major gifts, annual giving, corporate and foundation partnerships, grants, and special events, while building and managing a strong donor pipeline and cultivating key relationships. The role also involves collaborating closely with executive leadership and the board, aligning fundraising efforts with strategic priorities, supervising advancement and communications teams, and ensuring effective use of data, systems, and reporting to drive performance and accountability.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in nonprofit advancement or development leadership, with a proven track record of securing major gifts and growing diverse revenue streams. Strong leadership and team management skills are essential, along with the ability to build meaningful relationships with donors, board members, and community stakeholders. Candidates should possess excellent communication, strategic planning, and analytical skills, as well as experience managing budgets, fundraising operations, and CRM systems. A bachelor’s degree is typically required, with advanced education or equivalent experience preferred, along with a demonstrated passion for mission-driven work.
