Marketing & Communications Associate (Part-Time) Position Summary The Marketing&CommunicationsAssociate plays a key role in supporting the museum’s marketing initiatives and strengthening its public presence. This positionis responsible forassistingin the development, execution, and maintenance of the museum’s marketing and communications efforts, with a strong emphasis on supporting the museum’s visual identity through graphic design projects and creative asset development. The individual collaborates with the Marketing& CommunicationsDirector to create andmaintainvisual materials and enhance website content, while also photographing visitors, exhibitions, programs, andspecial events to support marketing needs.
Additionalresponsibilities include creating content for andassistingwith the museum’s social media channels to help share the museum’s activities and engage with the public. The role requiresstrong communicationskills, an eye for detail, and a commitment to presenting the museum’s mission and programs in a dynamic, engaging, and professional manner.
This position is in-person and will occasionally require weekend and night availability
A weekly schedule will bedeterminedandconsistsofan average of25 hours a week
The hourly rate is $20-$26 depending on experience.
Roles and Responsibilities Assistin the design and production of visual materials—such as graphics for posters, on- and off-site signage, and social media content—to support museum communications
Photograph exhibitions, visitors, and on- and off-site programs for marketing and promotional use
Support the management of the museum’s social media platforms in close coordination with the Director of Marketing&Communications, including developing an engaging content schedule, drafting copy for approval,maintainingup-to-date posts, and providingtimely, friendly responses to comments and inquiries
Maintain and update online community calendars with current museum events and information
Contribute to the creation and editing of blog posts for the museum’s website
Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to support institutional goals and initiatives
Performadditionalrelated duties as assigned
Qualifications Associate’s degree in communications/marketing or equivalent work experience
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Demonstrated experience managing multiple social media channels on behalf of a single organization or business
Confident and outgoing, with the ability to proactively approach museum visitors to request photo opportunities
Proficiencywith graphic design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
Ability to travel to offsite eventswithin Berkshire region
Additional preferred qualifications:
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Up-to-date first aid and CPR certification
