We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on
Director of Financial Reporting
to lead our external reporting, technical accounting, and consolidation functions. This role is ideal for an accounting leader who brings deep SEC and U.S. GAAP expertise, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is excited to build and scale a high-performing reporting function.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation, review, and delivery of consolidated financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and accompanying disclosures.
Own the monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring timely and accurate consolidation, eliminations, internal controls, and reporting analytics.
Interpret, apply, and document technical accounting matters, with responsibility for researching and implementing new U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.
Oversee preparation of external reporting, including SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K), footnotes, and MD&A, ensuring compliance with all regulatory timelines.
Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Corporate Accounting, Legal, Operations, and external auditors to support financial reporting and audit activities.
Strengthen and formalize accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting processes.
Provide leadership in the selection, onboarding, and development of two future team members after the initial build-out period.
Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on complex accounting issues, financial reporting risks, and compliance matters.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
10+ years of progressive experience post‑graduation, including Big 4 or public accounting background combined with corporate industry experience
Strong experience with: SEC reporting, Technical accounting (U.S. GAAP), Consolidations and eliminations, Statement of cash flows, and Month‑end close processes
Proven ability to independently prepare detailed financial analyses, policies, and technical documentation
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial matters to executives and external auditors
Strong leadership potential with the ability to build and mentor a growing team
