Nutrition Specialist (Bolingbrook) – FHS/071

Job Summary Under the supervision of the Division Director through immediate supervisors, plans, organizes, and evaluates the nutrition component of Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).

Responsibilities

Conduct group education and health assessments.

Certify clients eligible for WIC.

Perform hemoglobin screenings.

Assess needs for health and social services.

Develop individual care plans in conjunction with clients.

Conduct periodic assessments, follow‑up, and referral activities.

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:30 am‑4:30 pm. Wednesday hours 10:30 am‑6:30 pm. Must be flexible to work at satellite clinics and hours as assigned, including evenings.

Minimum Qualifications

Credited Bachelor’s Degree in Nutritional Sciences, Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, or Public Health Nutrition.

Requirements

Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License and minimum auto liability insurance.

Verification of U.S. citizenship or employment eligibility.

Desired

Bilingual in Spanish.

Certified Lactation Counselor or Certified Lactation Specialist.

One year of nutrition counseling experience.
