A well-capitalized and highly diversified commercial bank is seeking a
Business Relationship Manager
to join a newly formed lending team focused on expanding small-to-medium business relationships across the Miami-Dade market. The portfolio mix for this role is approximately
50% Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and 50% Commercial Real Estate (CRE) , with a strategic emphasis on growing
small and middle-market operating businesses .
This role is part of a new team build-out designed to support the bank’s strategic initiative of
reducing reliance on real estate lending while expanding business banking relationships . The bank is currently developing a dedicated lending space to support this team, which will consist of
three Relationship Managers, one Portfolio Manager, and one Lending Assistant .
The ideal candidate is a
hybrid lender
with experience structuring both C&I and CRE loans, strong credit training, and a demonstrated ability to generate
low-cost deposits, lending volume, and fee income .
Responsibilities
Develop and manage a portfolio of
small-to-medium business clients and commercial real estate investors .
Generate new lending relationships across the
Doral, Medley, Airport West/East, and Hialeah markets .
Structure and originate both
C&I and CRE loans , maintaining a balanced portfolio mix.
Identify opportunities to grow
low-cost deposit relationships , including DDA and money market accounts.
Collaborate with credit, portfolio management, and operations teams to move transactions efficiently through underwriting and closing.
Structure complex credit facilities and maintain strong credit discipline in accordance with bank policies.
Generate additional
fee income through treasury management, SBA lending, and interest rate swaps
where applicable.
Maintain strong relationships with business owners, investors, accountants, attorneys, and referral partners.
Manage ongoing portfolio performance and maintain strong client relationships through regular contact and financial reviews.
Represent the bank within the local business community through networking and industry engagement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Finance, Business, or a related field .
5+ years of commercial banking experience
with exposure to both
C&I and CRE lending .
Strong
formal credit training and financial analysis skills .
Proven ability to generate
new loan production and deposit relationships .
Experience working with
small to medium-sized businesses and commercial real estate investors .
Demonstrated ability to build referral networks within the local business community.
Strong communication, relationship management, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage a portfolio while actively developing new business opportunities.
