Job Overview We are seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to join the AWS Global Public Sector Legal team. In this role, you will provide legal advice and guidance on compliance matters related to Amazon’s public sector business worldwide, including government contracting, procurement regulations, and public sector‑specific laws and policies across various jurisdictions. This role is critical to ensuring Amazon maintains the highest compliance standards while enabling growth in the public sector worldwide.

Key Responsibilities As an Associate Corporate Counsel, you will:

Advise internal clients on legal and regulatory ethics and compliance issues in the global public sector space.

Support development, implementation, and oversight of compliance programs and training for public sector business units worldwide.

Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting public sector business across multiple jurisdictions.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to assess and mitigate legal risks and ensure alignment of compliance efforts.

Support public sector compliance messaging and accountability across Amazon.

Assist with post‑government employment review processes, ensuring compliance with regional laws and regulations.

Consult on political law and gift compliance.

Support organizational conflicts of interest compliance.

Manage relationships with outside counsel on public sector compliance matters.

A Day in the Life You'll coordinate with legal and business teams on time‑sensitive compliance questions and draft practical guidance for internal stakeholders. You’ll participate in meetings across regions to address emerging compliance issues, provide real‑time legal support, and balance multiple priorities such as reviewing gift disclosures and advising on organizational conflicts of interest. The fast‑paced environment demands adaptability and responsiveness to business needs across time zones.

About The Team The Public Sector Legal Compliance team is essential to enabling Amazon’s public sector business to operate with integrity and full compliance worldwide. We support Amazon Web Services and other Amazon businesses serving government customers at all levels. We pride ourselves on being trusted advisors who deliver practical, business‑oriented legal solutions while maintaining the highest ethical standards. Basic Qualifications

Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent.

Knowledge of government contracting laws, rules, and regulations including FAR and DFAR.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.

Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Experience identifying, mitigating, and managing business risks and tradeoffs.

2+ years of Public Sector and/or Political Law experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local government contracting laws, rules, and regulations.

Experience in cloud computing technologies.

3+ years of relevant legal experience focused on government contracting and public sector compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Multilingual capabilities are highly desirable.

Salary range: $131,500.00 – $178,000.00 USD annually. Compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Benefits include health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave. Learn more about our benefits at https://amazon.jobs/en/benefits.
