Job Goal:
The Director of Curriculum and Accountability provides strategic leadership in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the district's curriculum, instructional practices, and assessment systems. This position ensures alignment with New Jersey Student Learning Standards and district priorities while promoting instructional coherence across all schools. The Director leads data‑driven decision‑making through the analysis of student performance outcomes, oversees professional learning aligned to instructional goals, and ensures the effective implementation of curriculum and pedagogy. Additionally, the role supports accountability systems, including district assessments and grant initiatives, to advance student achievement and organizational effectiveness.
Employment Terms:
Twelve‑month year Full‑time; eligible for health insurance benefits Terms and conditions of employment to be specified in the negotiated agreement between the Board of Education and the Paramus Association of School Principals.

Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Education
New Jersey Certificate - Teacher of Subject Area K‑12/N‑12
New Jersey Certificate - Principal
Demonstrated communication skills
Demonstrated leadership talent and abilities
Minimum five years' successful teaching/administrative experience
Knowledge of elementary, middle, and high school programs
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Salary Range:
$165,000–$175,000 – Compensation commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities Curriculum and Supervision
Provides leadership and direction for subject area supervisors on the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the district's instructional programs.
Leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum development and instructional practices.
Works collaboratively with professional staff to ensure curricular coherence and alignment to support initiatives and processes.
Develops and oversees a process to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional methods, programs, and field trips, and recommends revisions as needed.
Coordinates and assists in the adoption, development, revision, and publication of related instructional program materials.
Oversees the development of the district budget for curriculum and instruction.
Accountability
Assesses staff development needs across curricular areas, and works with subject area supervisors on the development, implementation, and evaluation of staff development programs in alignment with district goals and initiatives.
Oversees the process of disaggregating student assessment data to prioritize instructional time, monitor student progress and design interventions, and refine instructional methods.
Reviews and analyzes local, state, and national test results and makes appropriate recommendations for improvement across the various departments and subject areas.
Oversees the process for the development of all district‑wide student assessments.
Provides oversight of the district professional learning community program.
Works with subject area supervisors and principals on ensuring fidelity of implementation of district curriculum and pedagogy.
Assists in the development, monitoring, and reporting of State and Federal grant applications.
Coordinates and collaborates with district‑level staff to ensure consistency of purpose and practice.

Performs other appropriate responsibilities as assigned.
Evaluation:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.
Requirements:
1. New Jersey resident or willingness to relocate 2. Controlled substance testing and successful completion of criminal history background check are required of all applicants offered employment.
