This is an excellent opportunity to join an elite, nationally recognised U.S. law firm as a Mid‑Level Commercial Real Estate Associate within its expanding Charleston office. The firm has a long-standing reputation for delivering sophisticated real estate counsel to a diverse client base including developers, investors, operators and lenders across multiple asset classes.

The Charleston Real Estate team handles a dynamic range of complex transactional work, offering associates high levels of responsibility, client interaction and exposure to major real estate projects across the multifamily, industrial, office, mixed‑use, and workforce housing sectors. This position is ideal for a driven associate seeking to deepen their transactional experience within a top‑tier platform.

The Role You will advise clients on a broad and sophisticated range of commercial real estate matters, including:

Representing developers, investors, operators and lenders across major asset classes.

Handling acquisitions and dispositions of commercial real estate assets.

Managing real estate financings, including construction and permanent loans secured by real property.

Advising on common and preferred equity investments, joint venture agreements and capital raises.

Drafting and negotiating purchase agreements, JV agreements, loan documents and leases.

Supporting clients with development and zoning matters, zoning appeals and tax‑related issues such as property tax assessments and abatement programs.

This role offers exposure to high‑value transactions and the opportunity to work with sophisticated institutional clients within a highly collaborative environment.

The Candidate

Minimum of four years’ experience in commercial real estate law.

Experience representing developers, lenders, institutional clients and other major market participants.

Strong drafting and negotiation skills across purchase agreements, JV agreements, leases and loan documents.

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Eligibility for admission to the South Carolina Bar is preferred.

Ability to manage and close complex transactions independently while operating effectively within a collaborative team.
