Description
The Industrial Packaging Designer will work to help the Design R&D team bring innovative packaging solutions to the market for our clients (Top 100 CPG brands). This individual will aid in creating packaging concepts from ideation, validation to commercialization, developing visual renderings with placeholder graphics and designing packaging formats for retail. This role will also support collaboration with cross‑functional teams to fulfill internal and external packaging requests, as well as helping to drive strategic innovation internally.
What You'll Own and Achieve:
Design and develop conceptual packaging formats within the snacks and confections industry that fulfill a specific occasion and need for the consumer
Create placeholder graphics utilizing client assets or new creations for outbound pitch opportunities primarily for tradeshows, conferences, prospect pitches, and/or in-house support
Lead communication with packaging suppliers for primary and secondary packaging to obtain, file, and organize packaging quotes
Help conduct market research at retail outlets collecting and scanning data to present to clients
Assist with the preparation and organization of technical data and die lines
Make revisions and suggestions to size, shape and arrangement of parts to create a feasible and cost‑effective packaging solution
Manage safety testing of creative werks' manufactured packaging
Participate and/or lead packaging based brainstorming sessions internally and with clients
Support Packaging Engineer with continuous improvement initiatives
Oversee management of mockups, prototypes and sale samples for internal teams and clients, along with in‑house 3D printer for internal and external requests
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements What Your Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Packaging, Product Design or related discipline with 0‑2 years of industry experience; 5+ years related industry experience in lieu of degree
Experienced and knowledgeable in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator and Photoshop)
Demonstrated use in 3D CAD software and rendering packages such as SolidWorks, ArtiosCAD, Autodesk Fusion or Adobe Substance 3D
Sound verbal and written and written communication skills
Understanding of the co‑packing and manufacturing process to design cost effectively and strategically
Fosters a self‑starter approach, collaboration, curiosity, problem‑solving and solutioning new challenges
Food Safety Responsibilities:
Attend all food safety training sessions (GMP, SQF, HACCP, Allergen, Food Facility Security, Preventing Foodborne Illness)
Participate in company GMP walks
Enforce company rules regarding food safety and monitoring
Working Conditions:
Office setting and warehouse environment with temperature range of 55 – 80 degrees
This position requires you to visit a production floor from time to time, in which you will need to follow GMP guidelines and rules
This position requires the individual to be in the office at least 3 days a week, WFH is acceptable when able up to 2 days a week
Physical Requirements:
Operate standard office equipment
Reach with hands and arms
Lift up to 25 pounds

The approved annualized base compensation range for this role is established at $65,000 - $80,000. Final offer amounts will be determined based on candidate skills, qualifications, experience and domain expertise.
