Job Overview
The purpose of this classification is to perform technical work functions associated with supporting cellular equipment and resolving tickets to ensure user satisfaction. Duties include following established processes for the assignment, support, and administration of all cellular equipment. Work is performed under administrative direction with latitude for exercising initiative and independent judgment, and is reviewed through observation and evaluation of completed tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Support customers by phone, email, or walk‑up.
Perform OS updates on smartphones and other cellular devices.
Configure setups on new cellular installations and assist users with device functionality.
Provide education, training, information, and assistance to users and other IT staff.
Maintain current records for cellular equipment assignments and correct any inaccuracies.
Create, update, and resolve support tickets in the queue; escalate tickets requiring additional time or expertise.
Provide cellular reports to management and communicate incidents or outages.
Assist or cover for other employees as needed.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair devices.
Explain complex technical issues to customers in a non‑technical, simple manner.
Ensure all repairs meet or exceed PBSO quality standards.
Keep track of all devices and inventory while safeguarding store stock.
Utilize IVANTI ticket system to maintain accurate records of customer information and repair status.
Work 8‑5 hours after days, including weekends and holidays, as required.
Additional Functions
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by college level coursework or vocational/technical training in computer science, repair, operations, or related field.
Two (2) years of previous experience and/or training involving customer service, call center support, application software, related hardware peripherals, ticketing system documentation, or service desk work.
Alternatively, any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for the job.
Special Requirements
Must successfully complete a background investigation including polygraph or voice stress test.
Mandatory pre‑employment physical and drug screening tests.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license (Class "E").

Physical Ability:
tasks involve moderate physical demands, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling 20‑50 pounds.
Sensory Requirements:
ability to perceive and differentiate colors, sounds, odors, depths, textures, and visual cues; oral communication ability.
Environmental Factors:
exposure to odors, noise extremes, machinery, electric currents, traffic hazards, or varying light conditions.

Technical degree or certification in Electronics or Consumer Electronics.
Previous experience working support at a cellular carrier box outlet.
