Job Description
Objective
Northshore Bible Church is seeking a full‑time Associate Pastor to strengthen adult ministry efforts while leading and expanding our worship ministry.
Salary and Benefits
$60-75K + benefits + relocation (if applicable)
About Us Northshore Bible Church is an independent, multigenerational church founded in 1985 and located in Covington, Louisiana, approximately forty miles north of New Orleans. We average 185 adults on Sunday mornings and hold two identical services at 9am and 10:30am. We value expository preaching, relational shepherding, volunteer empowerment, and have a strong emphasis on missions.
Responsibilities
Be actively involved in adult discipleship efforts (one‑on‑one, small group, men’s ministry).
Assist in leadership development of adult volunteers.
Maintain and support existing adult ministry programs.
Oversee leadership of established men’s ministry, small groups, missions, service ministries (ushers and greeters), and congregational gatherings.
Provide pastoral care as needed in coordination with the Senior Pastor.
Assimilation of new families.
Opportunity to preach and teach periodically as gifted and needed.
Approximately 65% of time spent would be in adult ministries.
Worship Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and lead all regular and special worship services in conjunction with the Senior Pastor.
Oversee any worship team rehearsals. (Currently we have a praise team and our worship style is blended combining traditional hymns and sound biblical contemporary worship songs.) The musical style we are looking for would be similar to City Alight, the Getty’s, and Sovereign Grace music.
Expand our music ministry by bringing others of the congregation to participate.
Oversee the audio/visual volunteers and steward worship technology and equipment.
Approximately 35% time spent would be in worship ministry.
Position Qualifications
Meet the qualifications of I Timothy 3:1‑7, Titus 1:5‑9, and I Peter 5:1‑5.
In agreement with doctrinal statement of Northshore Bible Church (Doctrinal Statement).
Demonstrate strong, biblical and theological grounding. Bible college or seminary training.
2 years of ministry experience.
Strong vocal ability and instrumental proficiency (guitar or piano required).
Working knowledge of sound systems, worship software, and service production.
If married, demonstrates a healthy and supportive family alignment with ministry calling.
Carry out the policies deemed necessary by the church elders.
Self‑starter, creative, and evangelistic.
