General Summary Under minimal supervision, responsible for the coordination of retention visits for current business and industry members throughout the region. Execute and follow a plan of work to recruit and to retain members of the Ames Regional Economic Alliance. Membership is vital to the programming efforts of the Alliance. It will be incumbent upon the Coordinator to implement proper timing of a plan of work to engage with members and provide ongoing support through outreach opportunities.

Essential Duties and Tasks

Develops annual plan of work for member recruitment and retention efforts. This plan must include a method for timely follow-up with prospects, as well as immediate onboarding and outreach with new members to ensure smooth transition as businesses join the Alliance.

Coordinates a weekly member retention schedule, including a focus on milestone and anniversary dates/years

Supports and works closely with the Vice President, Investor Relations for idea generation of ways to retain current members and prospect businesses throughout the region

Introduces and promotes new members through social media channels as needed

Follow and post shared Stories from members on various social media platforms

Facilitates Membership programming events like Ambassador Socials, Business after Hours and Coffee Mingles.

Assists with event registration process; intake of online and phone registrations, name tag printing, and on-site registration as needed

Supports and maintains updates into membership database

Facilitate monthly Board of Directors communications, Board agendas, and meal planning for meetings

Serves as back up to front desk coverage when needed

Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions This work is performed in a moderately noisy office environment. Work can be stressful and pressured by deadlines. Occasional travel may be required. May be asked to drive at night or in inclement weather from time to time.

Effort Sitting for long periods of time at a desk. Constantly looking at a computer screen. Must be able to see, hear, and speak. Filing, organizing, typing, and sorting is a usual activity. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Machines, Tools, Equipment Computer, printer, calculator, photocopier, fax machine, telephone, and vehicle.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not essential. A combination of education and experience may be substituted when proficiency is demonstrated. Excellent organizational and administrative skills are essential to manage multiple projects, as well as excellent communication skills. Must be able to work with deadlines and must have vehicle and maintain a valid driver’s license.
