Job Title: PCB Designer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer/Circuit Board Designer to join our dynamic team in Herndon, VA. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative security solutions for the United States Government. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team tackling challenging technical problems in national security, with a focus on spacecraft payload and system development in power-constrained environments.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineering staff to design and develop complex layouts for printed circuit boards, focusing on high-speed digital, high-fidelity analog, and specialized power applications.
Create and manage standardized part libraries and develop PC board designs using Electrical Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) tools, specifically Autodesk EAGLE.
Perform engineering computations, write specifications, and generate circuit board manufacturing data and drawings.
Improve legacy systems and develop new systems, ensuring fast and agile PC board design to meet technical performance and schedule objectives.
Guide the resolution of engineering problems related to PC board design and manufacturing, and apply the latest technological advancements.
Provide innovative technical solutions for detailed designs and electrical drawings of PC board components and assemblies for complex products.
Establish design standards and verify completed design elements, checking dimensions, materials, and quantities.
Provide direction and support to less experienced PC board designers.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and observe all applicable laws and regulations.
Essential Skills
Minimum 5 years of experience in PCB design or equivalent engineering experience.
Proficiency in Autodesk EAGLE for routing complex digital and mixed-signal designs.
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and complete projects from schematic to production-ready stages.
Strong understanding of PC board design concepts and manufacturing methods.
Experience with high-speed digital circuit board layout, mixed-signal digital/analog circuit board layout, and high-power or high-voltage circuit board layout.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
Experience in project leadership and the ability to coordinate workloads to meet deadlines.
Work Environment The position operates on a 9/80 shift, offering a structured work schedule. You will work in a collaborative team environment with highly skilled professionals. The role supports the Intelligence Community and involves engaging project work that contributes to national security solutions.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Herndon, VA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 – $67.00/hr.
