Role Summary The Home Loan Post Closing Specialist is responsible for managing the post-closing stage of residential mortgage loans. This role ensures all loan documents are accurate, compliant, and completed within regulatory timelines, coordinating with all stakeholders to facilitate timely exports to the sub‑servicer and seamless delivery to investors. The specialist also handles quality control activities.
What You Will Be Doing
Maintain thorough knowledge of mortgage products, regulatory requirements, and investor guidelines
Prioritize daily tasks to meet service level agreements, compliance deadlines, and investor lock expirations
Conduct thorough reviews of final settlement statements and perform all required final updates in the LOS
Issue Post‑Closing Compliance Documents (PCCDs) within regulatory timelines
Conduct servicing exports, mortgage insurance activation/issuance, and MERS registration
Manage escrow holdbacks coordinating with internal and external parties to ensure timely completion and distribution of funds
Order, track, and follow up on post‑closing conditions and requirements such as tax transcripts, manufactured home title eliminations, etc.
Conduct all tasks related to the selling and shipping of loan files to investors, ensuring compliance with investor requirements
Monitor, audit, and track trailing documents like recorded deeds of trust and final title policies and follow up with vendors as needed
Track and resolve discrepancies or deficiencies in post‑closing files to avoid investor penalties
Monitor and work on recurring reports pertaining to quality control and department auditing
Request and track sub‑serving corrections and updates
Provide internal, external, and member servicing support on HELOC products
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce inefficiencies
Maintain accurate records of all loan activities in the Loan Origination System (LOS)
Attend training sessions and team meetings to stay updated on industry changes and organizational policies
About You
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify and correct discrepancies
Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with borrowers, vendors, and internal teams
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands
Adaptability in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
Proficiency in loan origination systems, investor portals, and standard Microsoft Office tools
Qualifications
High‑school diploma or equivalent; completion of specialized courses, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
One (1) year of experience in mortgage closing, post‑closing, processing, or financial institution preferred
Familiarity with FNMA, FHA, VA, and USDA guidelines preferred
Experience with Automated Underwriting System (AUS) and other lending‑specific software preferred
Proficient with standard Microsoft Office Suite
Some travel is required to achieve training and business objectives
Valid Driver’s License is required

Full Salary Range $22.92 - $38.19
While our full pay range is listed, most new team members typically start between the minimum and midpoint based on their experience and qualifications. This approach gives room to grow within the role as your career progresses with us.
