
Personal Lines Account Manager

Focus: Service and retain personal lines clients; support Producers with marketing, renewals, and account changes
Goal: Meet agency quality, service, and sales standards
Core responsibilities
Client and Producer support
Analyze client needs; review coverage forms and quotes; recommend solutions with Producer
Schedule client appointments; occasionally attend prospect/client meetings with Producer
Prepare applications with Producer; submit to appropriate carriers; track to bind/policy issuance
Prepare summaries of insurance, schedules, proposals, and client correspondence
Order/issue and verify binders, certificates, policies, endorsements; deliver with correct communications
Process midterm changes and verify accuracy; coordinate corrections with carriers/clients
Manage renewals end-to-end in coordination with Producer
Review audits; verify accuracy; coordinate corrections with client/carrier
Billing and A/R
Follow agency billing procedures; pursue prompt payment; keep Producer informed on past-due items
Retention and cancellations
Assess cancellation requests; attempt account rescue; alert Producer
Process and follow up on carrier cancellations to ensure timely, accurate resolution
Claims assistance
Assist clients with first notice of loss; facilitate prompt carrier response; track status; update Producer
Identify exposures and recommend appropriate coverages with Producer
Professional development and teamwork
Prioritize workload for accurate, timely processing across multiple steps/systems
Maintain professional, courteous relationships with clients, colleagues, carriers, and vendors
Stay current on industry trends, products, legislation, coverage, and technology
Communicate clearly; collaborate to achieve agency goals
Qualifications
Experience: Highschool diploma or equivalent required Insurance experience preferred
Licensure: Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license or ability to obtain in first 60 days
Communication: Strong verbal and written skills; able to explain complex topics simply
Analytical: Able to interpret policies, underwriting requirements, and abstract information
Market knowledge: Products, markets, rating, and underwriting procedures
Technology
Proficient with MS Office
Experience with insurance systems (e.g., EZLynx, Applied, AMS) preferred
Physical/working conditions
Work mix: ~70% sedentary; frequent typing and repetitive hand motions
Capabilities: Visual processing of written materials; clear, quick verbal communication; lift up to 10 lbs.
Environment: Fast-paced, high call volume, frequent interruptions; accuracy and speed across complex workflows required
