About the Opportunity LINK is actively seeking a

Information Designer

to join our dynamic team, where we collaborate with clients across a wide range of industries to create impactful visual stories that communicate complex ideas. You will be responsible for translating concepts into compelling visual products, including prototypes, wireframes, infographics, charts, and diagrams, to effectively convey both quantitative data and abstract ideas in print and digital formats.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative professional to apply human‑centered design and design‑thinking principles to solve complex challenges and deliver visually engaging solutions. You will work closely with both internal teams and clients to understand their needs, develop intuitive information hierarchies, and create designs that support their goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design, UX Design, Visual Journalism, Visual Communications, or a related field

5–10 years of experience in graphic design or a related role

Strong expertise in information design, with a passion for creating visual stories and working with data to deliver impactful solutions

Well‑versed in a variety of design areas (e.g., experience design, brand development, information design, graphic design) to propose and develop the best solutions for each project

Highly motivated to solve end‑user challenges, meet stakeholder needs, and achieve business goals

Exceptional organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

Capable of meeting deadlines and adapting to changing requirements

Comfortable navigating ambiguity and able to lead clients and teams to clarity around requirements

A bias toward positivity, openness and supporting others

Design portfolio required for consideration

Responsibilities Visual Design & Information Products

Develop high‑quality, visually engaging deliverables including infographics, charts, diagrams, dashboards, wireframes, prototypes, briefs, and presentation materials.

Translate dense, technical, or abstract information into structured, accessible, and visually compelling formats.

Create clear information hierarchies, visual systems, and frameworks that support strategy, research synthesis, and executive decision‑making.

Produce materials optimized for both print and digital environments.

Contribute to the development of templates, visual standards, and repeatable design systems to ensure consistency and scalability.

Brand & Multimedia Execution

Design new branding schemes or apply established brand guidelines to create cohesive, client‑specific visual identities.

Support multimedia storytelling efforts, including script writing, storyboarding, audio editing, and motion graphics development (preferred).

Bring curiosity, creativity, and strong visual judgment to solve organizational, technical, and user‑centered challenges through design.

Strategic & Client Collaboration

Partner with strategists, researchers, and subject‑matter experts to understand client challenges and translate them into clear, tailored visual solutions.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define goals, clarify requirements, gather inputs, and present design concepts.

Visually prototype ideas in real‑time during working sessions, navigating ambiguity and complexity with confidence.

Apply human‑centered design principles to ensure solutions reflect real user needs and client objectives.

Work iteratively, incorporating stakeholder feedback, data insights, and testing results to refine deliverables.

Manage multiple priorities effectively, delivering high‑quality work under tight timelines and evolving requirements.

Work Schedule

An onsite presence is required 5 days/week for client meetings, presentations, or working sessions at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Full time, 40 hours per week

Some travel required to attend relevant events and conferences, and participate in LINK team events

Salary We’re committed to providing competitive compensation, including locality adjustments based on Washington, DC. The base salary range for this position is

$71,000–$97,000. Your final offer will reflect your experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
