PAYMENTS BUSINESS ANALYST
Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is embarking on a multi-year initiative to modernize and replace its core payments infrastructure. This is a high-visibility, enterprise-scale program that will shape how the organization delivers payment experiences across domestic and global markets.
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join the team and play a central role in capturing business requirements, defining functional specifications, and supporting end-to-end delivery of this transformation program.
What You’ll Be Doing Business Analysis & Requirements
Lead requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders to define current and future-state payment processes
Translate business needs into clear BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and data mapping documents
Analyze and document end-to-end payment workflows - domestic, international, wire, and real-time rails
Conduct gap analysis between legacy and target-state payment platforms
Project Delivery
Support project planning, scope definition, and impact assessments for system and process changes
Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Developers, and QA teams in an Agile or hybrid delivery model
Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release cycles
Support test planning, define test scenarios, validate acceptance criteria, and assist with UAT execution
Stakeholder & Change Management
Facilitate clear communication between technology and business partners
Contribute to training, operational readiness, and change management activities
Ensure all requirements align with regulatory, compliance, and risk management standards
What We’re Looking For
Strong exp in business analysis within financial services or payments
Hands‑on experience with payment systems and workflows - domestic, international, wire, real‑time rails
Proven ability to produce clean, concise documentation (BRDs, FRDs, user stories)
Comfortable working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations in financial services
Experience supporting large‑scale technology transformation or platform replacement projects
Nice to Have
Experience with payment system replacement or modernization programs
Knowledge of FINTRAC, AML, or financial compliance frameworks
Certifications such as CBAP, PMI‑PBA, or similar
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Toronto, ON.
Pay & Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
Workplace Type This is a hybrid position in Toronto,ON.
