Job Overview We are seeking a Low Voltage Technology Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a background in telecom room, pathway, and communications cabling design, with experience coordinating with architects, design teams, and clients. As a Low Voltage Technology Designer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing in‑building and outside plant communications cabling systems.
Employment Details • Employment Type: Full‑time • Location: Long Beach, CA & Seattle, WA • Schedule: Hybrid • Salary Range: $97,700–$130,000 • Level: Mid
General Responsibilities The Low Voltage Technology Designer will support project designs across industrial, federal, healthcare, education, and municipal sectors.
Designing and implementing low‑voltage/signal systems such as IT/Telecom infrastructure
Communications cabling (MPOE, TEC, IDF rooms)
Horizontal and outside‑plant cabling
Wireless networking
Paging, emergency phones, and clock systems
Classroom presentation systems
Video surveillance, intrusion detection, and access control
Performing technical requirements analysis, site assessments, and construction administration
Managing QA/QC during construction and installation phases
Collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure alignment with master planning and field conditions
Developing scope of work documents and pricing estimates
Ensuring compliance with ANSI, NEC, and industry standards
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 3–6 years of experience in telecom cable infrastructure
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam
Strong understanding of CSI format specifications and construction documents
Ability to perform low‑voltage/signal design calculations (e.g., conduit sizing, pulling tension)
Excellent verbal communication and client‑facing skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Certifications such as RCDD, BICSI, or CTS
Experience with federal, healthcare or education projects is a plus
