Director of Operations – El Segundo, CA
Responsibilities
Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership across property operations, including leasing, resident relations, maintenance, and collections.
Preparation of annual operating plans and budgets.
Set revenue targets and ensure execution against portfolio objectives.
Identify opportunities for operational improvement and expense reduction.
Lead and oversee value-add initiatives, including interior renovations and common area upgrades.
Oversee all aspects of staff leadership including recruitment, onboarding, training, development, performance management, and retention.
Monitor compliance with Operations and Accounting policies and procedures.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, HR, Marketing, Legal, Technology, and other departments.
Strategic operational leadership with strong business acumen.
Exceptional customer service and resident-focused mindset.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Comp: $150-175K + bonus.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree preferred OR equivalent experience (10+ years in property management).
8+ years of progressive leadership experience in multifamily operations or portfolio management.
5+ years in a people management role leading multi-site teams.
Demonstrated track record of P&L ownership and financial accountability.
Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
High level of computer literacy and comfort leveraging technology in operations.
Preferred
Yardi Systems (Voyager 8, Yardi Forecast, CRM IQ, RentCafe, etc.).
Learning Management System software (Aspire, Grace Hill, etc.).
Payables Systems – Avid / Yardi Smart AP.
AI Systems – EliseAI, ChatGPT, Anthropic.
Reputation Management Systems - Soci.
Lease Administration CRMs - Bluemoon.
Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint).
