Gallery And Auction Support: Mandarin Translator For Asian Art Exhibits

Doyle Auctioneers & Appraisers is seeking part-time Mandarin-speaking Exhibition Staff to assist clients during Doyle's Asian Art Auction exhibition for the following dates: Friday, Mar 20, Noon 5pm Saturday, Mar 21, Noon 5pm Sunday, Mar 22, Noon 5pm Monday, Mar 23, Noon 5pm In addition to assisting during the exhibition, there is an opportunity to work as auction day support, including as a phone bidder translating for clients. Auction Days: Tuesday, Mar 24, starting at 10am Wednesday, Mar 25, starting at 10am The ideal candidate is energetic, warm and welcoming. Doyle Exhibition Staff work with the Client Services department to develop relationships with new and returning clients, an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in art, decorative arts, jewelry, and the greater gallery and auction world. Responsibilities include: Welcoming clients to the exhibition. Ensuring the safety and security of clients and property. Providing clients with information about the auction, including how to register for bidding and how to request condition reports. Offering clients exhibition materials like gallery catalogues as needed. Handling prints and paintings as needed, including removing them from walls and returning them to their location. Phone bidding in a live auction Ad hoc duties as they come up Requirements: Must be fluent in English and Mandarin. Professional, polished demeanor. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to stand for periods of time between breaks and lunch. Legally authorized to work in the United States.
