Position Summary
The Carrier Sales Representative is responsible for sourcing, onboarding, and managing relationships with transportation carriers to support the efficient movement of freight. This role negotiates rates, coordinates shipments, and ensures timely delivery while maintaining a reliable carrier network and delivering excellent customer service.

Location: Overland Park, KS
Salary Range: $21.60 - $26.44 per hour
Key Responsibilities Carrier Management
Source, vet, and onboard carriers, including trucking companies and logistics providers
Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with carriers
Develop a reliable and scalable carrier network
Rate Negotiation & Procurement
Negotiate competitive rates based on market conditions, lanes, and customer requirements
Evaluate carrier pricing to ensure cost‑effective solutions
Shipment Coordination
Schedule and manage shipments from pickup through delivery
Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or service issues
Ensure all load details and documentation are accurate and complete
Customer & Stakeholder Communication
Communicate shipment updates and resolve inquiries in a timely manner
Collaborate with internal teams to meet customer expectations
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain accurate shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading)
Ensure adherence to transportation regulations and company policies
Market Awareness & Reporting
Monitor market trends, capacity, and pricing fluctuations
Analyze data to identify cost savings and operational improvements
Report on carrier performance and shipment metrics
Problem Solving
Address service disruptions, delays, or claims efficiently
Implement contingency plans as needed
Qualifications Education & Experience
High school diploma required
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred)
1+ year of customer‑facing experience required (customer or carrier)
Experience in carrier sales, freight brokerage, or logistics (preferred)
Prior sales or marketing experience is a plus (sales or logistics)

Knowledge of transportation industry practices and regulations
Technical Skills

Compensation & Benefits Salary Range:
$21.60 - $26.44 per hour
Starting pay is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, skills, and job‑related knowledge. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
