Role Overview We’re looking for a dynamic, commercially‑minded Director of Sourcing & Production to lead end‑to‑end global sourcing strategy with a sharp focus on cost engineering, CPM optimization, and margin delivery. This role is equal parts strategist and operator—owning the roadmap to deliver the right product, at the right cost, at the right time.
You will be the driving force behind cost transparency, supplier negotiations, and production excellence, partnering cross‑functionally with Design, Merchandising, Technical Design, and offshore teams to bring product to life efficiently and profitably. If you thrive on influencing outcomes through data, negotiation, and global partnerships—this is your seat at the table.
This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role where you’ll directly impact profitability, product strategy, and operational excellence. You won’t just manage production—you’ll shape how the business thinks about cost, value, and execution.
Responsibilities
Costing Strategy & CPM Leadership
Own and evolve the costing strategy across categories, with deep expertise in CPM, CM, yield optimization, and total garment cost architecture
Lead cost negotiations with mills, factories, and vendors to consistently achieve margin targets without compromising quality or design intent
Analyze cost drivers (fabric, trims, labor, logistics) and proactively identify cost‑saving opportunities and efficiencies
Partner with Design and Merchandising early in development to engineer product to target price points
Global Sourcing & Production Oversight
Direct the full production lifecycle from development handoff through bulk production and final delivery
Strategically allocate programs across a global vendor matrix, ensuring the right factory, capacity, and capabilities are aligned to business needs
Own production planning and capacity management, ensuring on‑time delivery against all key milestones (TNAs)
Cross‑Functional Leadership
Lead cross‑functional teams through the end‑to‑end approval process (BOM handoff, color/trim approvals, fit, testing, PP, TOP)
Act as a key partner to Design, Tech, Merchandising, QA, and Offshore teams to ensure seamless execution
Drive alignment across regions, ensuring real‑time visibility into production status, risks, and solutions
Build and maintain strong relationships with global mills, factories, and agents
Proactively manage supplier performance, resolving issues related to quality, delivery, and capacity
Influence vendor strategies to support cost targets, speed to market, and innovation
Operational Excellence
Oversee PO accuracy, system integrity, and on‑time bookings
Approve ship modes and vessel schedules to ensure on‑time delivery aligned with customer expectations
Continuously improve processes, tools, and workflows to drive efficiency, speed, and accuracy
Requirements
Minimum 10 years of experience in sourcing, production, or supply chain within apparel (Director‑level readiness)
Deep expertise in costing, CPMs, CMs, yield management, and garment cost breakdowns
Strong understanding of fabrics, trims, and product development lifecycle
Proven track record of negotiating costs and driving margin improvement
Experience working with global vendors and offshore teams
Strong business acumen with the ability to connect costing decisions to financial outcomes
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) and comfort working with data to inform decisions
Exceptional cross‑functional leadership, communication, and influencing skills
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and solutions‑driven with a strong sense of urgency
Ability to travel internationally as needed
