Head of Commercial Loan Operations

We’re partnering with a growing regional bank as they’re seeking a strategic and operational leader to serve as Head of Commercial Loan Operations. This individual will oversee the bank’s loan servicing and closing functions across a growing portfolio of commercial real estate (CRE) and commercial & industrial (C&I) loans. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving operational efficiency, team management, and the continuous improvement of loan workflows and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the end-to-end loan operations lifecycle, including loan closing, servicing, and processing.
Supervise and develop a team of loan operations professionals, ensuring strong performance, accountability, and professional growth.
Implement and enhance operational policies, procedures, and controls to ensure timely and accurate execution of loan documentation, disbursement, and ongoing servicing.
Monitor loan operations metrics and reporting to identify bottlenecks and optimize throughput.
Ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulatory requirements, including federal and state banking regulations.
Oversee data integrity and systems management within the bank’s loan origination and servicing platforms.
Lead or support system enhancements, process improvement initiatives, and technology implementations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree qualified with minimum 8+ years of experience in commercial loan operations and direct exposure to CRE and C&I loans in a banking setting.
Proven experience managing cross-functional loan operations teams.
Strong understanding of loan documentation, compliance requirements, servicing standards, and post-closing activities.
Demonstrated ability to implement and scale operational processes within a regulated environment.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with core banking and loan systems; comfort leading or supporting system conversions and upgrades.
