Manager, Development & Community Engagement
The
Manager, Development & Community Engagement
plays a vital role in strengthening community relationships, driving event-based fundraising, & elevating the visibility of Raising Resilience Tennessee across the region. This position is responsible for the planning & execution of key fundraising & community events, managing volunteer engagement, leading the Young Professionals Council (YPC), & ensuring thoughtful stewardship of donors, volunteers, & partners. Incorporating branding guidelines is critical to the role as is focusing on excellence in pursuing duties & responsibilities. Job Responsibilities
lead planning & execution of all fundraising events (2 major/other minor) from concept through completion…utilizing timelines/checklists/planning expectations and working in collaboration with leadership & event committees work effectively with Raising Resilience Tennessee’s CRM to ensure smooth event registration & donor/attendee tracking co-manage with program the annual Family Holiday Parties (2 locations) & Gift Drive, including volunteer coordination, partner engagement, donor outreach, & logistics work in Canva to create esthetic & branded graphics for events collaborate with internal team & external vendors to ensure successful event operations, branding, & fundraising performance Community Engagement & Outreach
represent &/or manage representation of Raising Resilience Tennessee at all tabling events, fairs, & community engagements to build awareness & deepen relationships organize & host “Lunch & Learn” sessions with local businesses, churches, civic groups, & other key partners, coordinating with leadership as speakers (with a goal of 2-3/mos) maintain & build partnerships with community organizations to support recruitment, outreach, & event participation through a regular “check-in” schedule identify, cultivate, & engage with current & potential 3rd party donors/events especially MTSU KDs, Junior League, & our YPC, working towards achieving annual fiscal goal, including monthly check ins, attending external events for relationship and recruitment efforts create collateral materials that meet engagement & outreach needs serve as staff liaison to the Young Professionals Council supportrecruitment through engaging with external YPC of YLC groups & encourage retention by connecting participants to RRTN’s mission; working with YPC Chair for meeting facilitation, & assisting with leadership development for participants guide the planning & implementation of YPC-led fundraising & social events in collaboration with YPC leadership & volunteers ensure alignment between YPC goals & the broader organizational mission recruit, train, schedule, & steward volunteers to support programs & events through collaborative efforts with department leads create & maintain volunteer opportunities with Leadership that align with organizational needs & reflect community interests track volunteer participation & implement recognition & appreciation efforts via annual plan and documented efforts Stewardship & Donor Acknowledgment
manage & execute all thank-you letters (within specified timeframes) & support stewardship communications (in collaboration with VP, Philanthropy and/or CEO) to event attendees, volunteers, vendors, partners, & donors maintain accurate records of event participation, volunteer hours, & donor contributions to support timely & meaningful acknowledgment Grants Management
manage grants timelines for proposals/reports, preparing the VP, Philanthropy with monthly deadlines and funder information plus initiating reports with basic information generate grant templates; initiate grants through completing basic information; maintaining grants folders on SharePoint including system in the Shared Files for grant completions by deadline assist with grantor relationships Collateral Management/Communications Support
in partnership with VP, Philanthropy establish & cultivate media partnerships lead timelines for & communications related to all print collaterals (with print vendors) collaborate with VP, Philanthropy & the President/CEO to support broader donor relations efforts along with assisting with donor research & donor cultivation/asks Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, communications, event planning, or a related field minimum 5 years of experience in development, event planning, volunteer management, community engagement, or similar field excellent project management skills highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects & deadlines positive interpersonal skills, affinity for learning, skill in networking, intellectual & social curiosity, confidence & poise along with the ability to adapt in communicating with different audiences, capable of successfully distilling information quickly innovator, organizer, self-initiator, fast learner, team player demonstrated ability to build relationships across diverse communities & stakeholder groups confidence & competence in learning & using existing & new technologies proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, DonorPerfect, Canva; capable of learning Givebutter, & EventGives experience in donor stewardship & event-based fundraising strongly preferred embrace & demonstrate core organizational values: Excellence, Integrity, Inclusion, Transformation, Connection other duties as assigned Additional Information
RRTN covers 84% of Health, 100% of Dental, Vision,& Life Insurance plus an FSA for employees. Family members can be added at the employees cost. FSA can be used for approved family. These benefits are available the first of the month after an initial start date. Accrued PTO and 11 holidays per year (including the week between Christmas & the New Year). We also provide a “remote work” practice for certain days/hours a week based on prior approval by supervisors and taking into consideration the organizational calendar/events needs.
