
Corporate Strategy Manager

Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, the Corporate Strategy Manager (NY) carries out a critical function in the execution of our corporate strategy. This position is responsible for identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, including M&As, joint ventures, and strategic alliances, as well as facilitating synergies across our affiliates. This role works closely with our global and local leadership and requires strong communication skills to align with CJ’s headquarters in Korea and the Group's long-term strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Management
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and support business reviews for CJ businesses in the Americas, ensuring strategic alignment and effective performance management
Maintain consistent communication with affiliates to identify key issues and propose effective action plans, primarily including but not limited to the CPG (Foods, QSR & Bakery Restaurants) and Logistics sectors
Provide support for monthly performance reporting and quarterly strategic business reviews
Coordinate cross-functional strategic meetings and ensure follow-up actions are executed
Strategy & Business Development
Conduct in-depth market and industry analysis to help identify emerging trends and actionable insights.
Identify and evaluate potential M&A, joint venture, and strategic partnership opportunities that align with CJ’s growth strategy
Contribute to the development of strategic proposals based on an understanding of the local business landscape and market dynamics
Cultivate and manage relationships with investment banks, corporate networks, and industry experts
Attend industry conferences and trade shows to stay informed on trends and identify new opportunities
Promote collaboration and synergy across CJ affiliates in the Americas through shared initiatives and strategic planning
Monitor macroeconomic and industry trends in the U.S. and report potential implications to HQ in Korea
Conduct periodic competitor and benchmark analysis, providing valuable insights into strategic recommendations
Cross-Functional & Strategic Projects
Work closely with CJ headquarters in Korea to ensure alignment on strategy, reporting, and project execution
Support executive leadership with ad hoc assignments and special projects
Provide investment research, strategic reporting, and market insights to aid high-level decision-making
Qualifications/Requirements
8+ years of experience in Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, or Business Planning
Hands-on experience in the CPG (Foods, QSR & Bakery Restaurants) or Logistics industries
Familiarity with the M&A process and deal execution
Solid financial modeling, analytical, and strategic problem-solving skills
Excellent project management and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally
Ability to handle highly confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Willingness to travel as needed
Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English is strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Professional experience in the entertainment industry, as well as in the fields of beauty/retail, is a plus
A working knowledge of Korean business practices, or prior international experience working with a major Korean conglomerate or multinational company, is a plus.

The anticipated base salary range for candidates who will work in New York is $140K to $170K. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be subject to several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of the candidate's experience within the job; type and length of experience within the specific industry; educational background; and the location of employment. This salary range may not reflect the pay scale for employees who work in other states.
