Lead Project Management, Digital Engineering Solutions

Responsibilities

Accountable for project completion, working independently in a collaborative environment.

Lead and manage initiatives that support and advance the team’s mission and core values.

Engage with diverse stakeholders from engineering and architecture backgrounds to align initiatives with the team’s strategic objectives.

Work on multiple assignments simultaneously.

Develop project scope, goals, deliverables, and risks that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs.

Identify potential risks throughout the project lifecycle, implement mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues.

Identify and handle project roadblocks, escalating issues when necessary, and find solutions to keep projects on track.

Monitor project quality throughout the delivery process to ensure that established standards and criteria are met.

Monitor the project budget, recognizing cost variations and taking necessary steps to keep within budgetary restrictions.

Ensure clear communication with leadership, clients, stakeholders, and internal development team to keep all parties updated on the project's progress and to resolve problems that may arise.

Manage cross‑functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Collaborate with the product lead and delivery manager to ensure project objectives are met.

Facilitate effective communication among project team members and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, KPI reports, and presentations.

Stay current with emerging technologies to meet industry demands.

Minimum Qualifications

7 years of relevant experience.

Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.

Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel depends on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Preferred Qualifications

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI preferred.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a field such as computer science, engineering, business, or a related field.

Skills and Abilities

Expertise in Project Management: Strong knowledge of best practices, methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum), and experience managing product and project life cycles.

Proven Leadership: Ability to take ownership, work independently, delegate tasks, motivate teams, and manage multiple initiatives concurrently.

Strategic Planning & Execution: Skilled in developing project strategies, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans; adept at risk identification and contingency planning.

Technical Proficiency: Experience in the AEC industry with familiarity in design/engineering applications, visualization, GIS, and data analytics; proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project.

Analytical & KPI Management: Competent in tracking performance through estimate vs. actual KPI boards to ensure projects meet deadlines and budgets.

Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills; capable of coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, facilitating meetings, and ensuring clear, strategic communication.

Adaptability & Continuous Learning: Willingness to adopt cutting‑edge technologies and enhance skills to remain competitive.

Pay Range Minimum: $122,595

Maximum: $214,510

Additional Compensation All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
