Automation Solutions Architect I
Description:
As an Automation Solutions Architect I, you will act as a senior technical resource supporting customer facilities through onsite service, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance activities. You will work closely with the Automation Solutions team to ensure reliable delivery of maintenance and technical support. In this role, you will provide advanced E&I expertise, coordinate day-to-day technical tasks while at customer sites, and help ensure high-quality execution of both project and service work.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary onsite technical resource forE&Isystems, providing advanced troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance support. Coordinate and prioritize day-to-dayE&Itasks while working alongside customer teams to ensure high-quality execution of project and service work. Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control issues, including DCS/MDC/PLC logic, ProfiBus, and EtherNet/IP communication networks. Support operations by maintaining equipment performance, responding quickly to downtime, and performing necessary repairs or modifications. Conduct root cause analysis and recommend actions to improve system reliability, applying electrical theory to install, repair, or rebuild components as needed. Document work activities, findings, and recommendations using customer or internal maintenance systems. Develop medium- to large-scale scope-of-work packages for DCS/PLC migrations and new automation projects. Develop E&I electrical construction work packages, including wiring details, installation requirements, and field implementation steps. Design control panel layouts, generate bills of materials (BOMs), and support procurement of new hardware. Define system architecture for electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems; develop specifications, standards, schematics, and interface definitions; and ensure all designs comply with industry and regulatory requirements. Lead design reviews, make key technical decisions, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate withcross-functional teams to guide successful project execution and resolve complex engineering issues. Design, develop, and implement PLC/DCS control logic and automation systems. Define system architecture, develop drive control strategies, and design automation solutions. Exercise independent judgment in selecting and implementing control strategies. Determine system design approaches without direct supervision.
