Volunteer: Google Ads Optimization

This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.

We're seeking a volunteer to help us maximize our Google Ad Grant. This project will play a key role in our organization's ability to grow brand awareness and impact community members. This project may include the following activities:

Development of or updates to our nonprofit's Google Ads strategy

Training one or two staff members on how to update Google Ads and monitor their performance

Setting up integration between Google Ads and Google Analytics

Making recommendations for future search engine optimization or content management projects that will improve our Google Ads health

Our ideal volunteer has experience with Google Ads and/or search engine marketing and copywriting skills.

This project will help The Wildflower Alliance expand both the reach and sustainability of our work supporting families raising children with disabilities. We are currently using our Google Ad Grant to drive traffic to our Create an Experience campaign, which invites community members to directly fund meaningful moments of respite, connection, and inclusion for families in our programs. Contributions to this campaign translate directly into experiences such as caregiver respite opportunities, inclusive family events, and community‑building activities that reduce isolation for parents navigating the challenges of raising children with disabilities. By strengthening our Google Ads strategy, this project will help increase the number of people who discover this campaign and convert that interest into financial support.

For our organization, improved performance of the Ad Grant directly translates into increased funding capacity and the ability to serve more families. At the same time, this engagement will help us build a stronger long‑term digital strategy. Beyond the current campaign, we want to optimize how we use the Google Ad Grant to expand awareness of the Wildflower Alliance and reach families and supporters across the state of Alabama. A volunteer partner can help us refine campaign structure, identify effective search strategies, and ensure we are using the grant in a way that consistently drives both engagement and measurable impact. Ultimately, this project will strengthen our ability to convert online discovery into meaningful support for families raising children with disabilities. By improving how we use our Google Ad Grant today and building internal capacity to manage it well in the future, this work will help ensure that more families find our organization and that more community members can participate in creating experiences of connection, belonging, and support.

To prepare, we have activated Google Ads for our website and secured a Google Ad Grant award. We are prepared to share the login credentials to our Google Workspace. In our first session together, we'll brief you on our marketing goals, as well as our mission, vision, and purpose. Your training of our team members on Google Ads best practices will help ensure the long‑term successful implementation of the great work you share with us.
