Summary of Responsibilities The Assistant Athletic Director's primary role is to assist the Athletic Director in all functions of the athletic department and oversee the building's other extracurricular activities. The Assistant Athletic Director shall be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive extracurricular activities program that reflects the school's mission and values, coordinating with the building principal/designee on recruitment, training, and evaluation of club sponsors and advisors, as well as athletic coaches. The Asst. AD helps coordinate and schedule all extracurricular events in the building scheduling system, manages the activities budget, including fundraising and sponsorship activities, and collaborates with school administrators, coaches, advisors, and parents to cultivate a positive and inclusive extracurricular environment. The role provides leadership to student‑athletes and club members, emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic achievement; assists with maintaining accurate records of student eligibility, injuries, and team performance, and coordinates transportation, facilities, and equipment for athletic events. The Asst. AD serves as the direct supervisor to the athletic grounds department and will perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Valid IL PEL with GADM K‑12 endorsement preferred; successful coaching experience in a high school; previous administrative experience in an athletic environment as either Director or Assistant Director required.
