Position Summary Titan Construction & Engineering Services is seeking a
Business Development Representative
to support continued growth while maintaining the high level of service our clients expect. This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in
Lafayette, Indiana .
The Business Development Representative plays a key role in identifying new business opportunities, supporting estimating efforts, and cultivating long‑term client relationships. This position works closely with the Business Development Manager, estimators, engineers, and project teams to help guide opportunities from initial contact through proposal and handoff to construction.
This role is ideal for someone who is relationship‑oriented, detail‑minded, and eager to grow their knowledge of the construction industry while contributing meaningfully to Titan’s continued success.
Key Responsibilities I. Estimating Support
Assist in assembling and maintaining
material and subcontractor bid lists
for review and approval by the Business Development Manager.
Prepare
detailed and budgetary estimates
as assigned, supporting both conceptual and formal proposal efforts.
Provide relevant information to engineering and preconstruction teams to pursue appropriate material selections and subcontractor pricing.
Develop a working knowledge of
trade scopes, terminology, and quality expectations
across all major disciplines.
Perform
preliminary code reviews
prior to final proposal development.
Prepare
rough‑draft proposals , including estimates and alternates, for internal review.
Review completed projects by comparing
actual costs versus original estimates
to help improve future accuracy.
Maintain and update the
estimating database , keeping labor rates, material pricing, and historical data current.
II. Business Development & Sales
Develop a strong working knowledge of
Titan Construction & Engineering Services’ past, current, and future capabilities , markets, and service offerings.
Effectively and cost‑consciously utilize Titan’s sales tools, including project photography, client references, qualifications materials, and internal expertise.
Maintain awareness of
market conditions, competitors, and their capabilities .
Conduct
cold calls, follow‑up calls, and relationship‑building outreach
to establish and develop new sales leads.
Guide sales leads through the
estimating and proposal process , requesting commitments when appropriate.
Represent Titan professionally at all times, ensuring that all communication, presentations, and materials reflect the company’s standards and values.
Coordinate a thorough
handoff of client, contract, and sales information
to the Business Development Manager and project teams once work is secured.
Follow up with clients regarding
industrial maintenance and miscellaneous work opportunities
after project completion.
Complete all required
weekly, monthly, and annual reporting
related to estimating and business development activity.
Maintain organized
project files and documentation
in accordance with company procedures.
Perform
jobsite visits , including taking field measurements and elevations as needed to support proposals and estimating.
Qualifications
Demonstrated ability in
lead generation and opportunity development .
Strong
communication and interpersonal skills , with a focus on building trust‑based client relationships.
Experience in
sales, business development, or estimating , preferably within construction or a related industry.
Ability to collaborate effectively with
cross‑functional teams , including estimating, engineering, and construction.
Strong
organizational and time‑management skills , with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Bachelor’s degree in
Construction Management or a related field
preferred.
Familiarity with the
construction and engineering industry
is a strong advantage.
Proficiency with
Microsoft Office
and general business software.
