Company Overview: We’re partnering with a global, high‑growth organization seeking a Director of Accounting to lead North America accounting operations and serve as a key partner to senior leadership. This high‑impact role oversees a multi‑entity environment, drives financial reporting, leads a team, and modernises processes in a complex, international business.

Position Overview: Our client is looking for a Director of Accounting who holds a CPA and has a proven professional track record. This senior‑level position leads the North American Accounting functions, requiring significant experience in a complex financial environment. The candidate will direct day‑to‑day financial management of the Company and act as a strategic partner with the SVP of Accounting. This position requires a hard‑working, hands‑on individual who can work well in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the month‑end and quarter‑end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across a multi‑entity environment.

Oversee consolidations and intercompany accounting, partnering with international teams to ensure proper eliminations and alignment.

Perform and review detailed analysis across key areas including revenue recognition, inventory, reserves, and cost of sales.

Ensure the integrity of financials through balance‑sheet review, reconciliations, and strong ledger oversight.

Partner cross‑functionally with FP&A, Tax, and senior leadership to support reporting, insights, and business decision‑making.

Support and lead key components of the external audit process, acting as a primary liaison for auditors.

Drive process improvements and close optimisation, focusing on scalability, automation, and strengthening internal controls.

Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing accounting team while building structure and accountability as the organisation grows.

The Desired Background:

CPA required with a strong technical accounting foundation.

Experience in complex, multi‑entity environments (global exposure preferred).

Background in financial reporting, consolidations, and close leadership.

Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP.

Prior team leadership experience with a hands‑on approach.

Ability to operate in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.

Compensation & Benefits: Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends on a wide range of factors, including the individual’s skill set, experience, licensure, office location, and other business considerations. Salary range is disclosed as required by local law, and the individual may also receive discretionary bonuses. Eligible benefits include medical, dental, vision plans, and participation in the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
