Medical Science Liaison, Immunology - Admilparant Location: Field - WI, IL - including Chicago The MSL embodies the medical mission to be a trusted partner for internal stakeholders and the healthcare community, driving scientific exchange to enhance medical education, data generation, insight generation, and patients’ access to medicine. The MSL identifies disease- and product-related medical needs in a defined geography and develops and maintains relationships with Thought Leaders (TL) and Healthcare Providers (HCP) within their healthcare system. Interactions focus on meaningful scientific exchange to ensure patients have access to BMS medicines, safe and appropriate use through peer-to-peer discussions aligned with medical strategies and needs, and to facilitate research. The MSL also serves as a medical resource for external stakeholders in the community.

Key Responsibilities

External Environment and Customer Focus Develop and maintain relationships with academic and community research TLs, appropriate HCPs, and access stakeholders within a given geography to answer scientific, unsolicited product, and HEOR-related questions. Use various interaction channels (1:1, group presentations, remote, etc.). Demonstrate proficiency in using available scientific resources and presentations. Present information to TLs/HCPs with medical accuracy and in compliance with local procedures, ethical and legal guidelines. Assess the medical landscape by meeting with TLs/HCPs/Access Stakeholders to understand needs and expertise. Continuously update knowledge in treatment strategies, products, unmet medical needs, clinical trials, HEOR and scientific activities. Understand the competitive landscape and evolving healthcare models; address informational needs of customers. Identify opportunities to partner with HCPs on disease-state initiatives, collaborative research projects, and investigator-sponsored research (ISR) aligned with BMS objectives. Attend medical congresses and local/regional meetings. Collect and provide meaningful medical insights to support strategy development and business decisions. Contribute to the Medical Plan Develop geography-specific Field Medical and TL Interaction plans based on therapeutic area objectives and TL needs. Adopt an institution/account planning approach and contribute to cross-functional plans. Contribute to development and delivery of scientifically meaningful medical programs/projects aligned with local Medical and Field Medical plan. Provide Medical Support Establish a customer-centric, compliant collaboration with cross-matrix field teams within the assigned geography. Provide training and key scientific updates to internal stakeholders as needed (e.g., Commercial, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Legal, HEOR, Value Access & Payment). Provide scientific support at promotional meetings by presenting data, evaluating speakers, and supporting BMS-contracted speakers when applicable. Participate in assigned Congress activities. Support Clinical Trial Activities Support interventional and non-interventional research (NIR) studies to facilitate patient recruitment and discussions around the safe and effective use of BMS investigational products, as agreed with home office medical and Global Development Operations (GDO) and the study scope document. Provide recommendations to the clinical development team on study and site feasibility based on field knowledge and contacts with potential investigators, as agreed with home office medical and GDO. Support HCPs in ISR submission and execution process and follow-up as agreed with home office medical and GDO. Ensure BMS Pharmacovigilance procedures are understood and applied by investigators; alert BMS personnel to any adverse events. Actively support CRO-sponsored studies as agreed with home office medical and GDO and as defined by study scope. Position Requirements MD, PharmD, PhD, APP, PA, NP with experience in a specific disease area or broad medical/pharmaceutical background. Disease area knowledge and understanding of scientific publications. Knowledge of scientific/clinical area, competitive landscape, and patient treatment trends. Knowledge of clinical trial design and process. Knowledge of national healthcare and access environment. Knowledge of HEOR core concepts. Excellent English language skills, spoken and written. Experience Desired Minimum of 2 years in a clinical and/or pharmaceutical environment. Prior MSL experience. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Translating scientific data into understandable form for physicians to serve patients. Strong communication and presentation skills for scientific/clinical data to professionals. Ability to develop peer-to-peer relationships with TLs, scientists, and other healthcare professionals. Ability to quickly learn new subject areas and environments. Demonstration of BMS values. Essential Qualification Ability to drive a company-provided car is an essential qualification. Candidates must be able to drive to multiple locations and demonstrate applied knowledge of industry trends. High ethics, integrity, and a safe driving history. Travel Requirement Travel required. Field-based; MSL will live in the territory or within 50 miles of the territory borders. Majority of time spent in the field with external customers. Further requirements based on territory. Compensation: Field – United States – US: $166,090 - $201,262. Starting range shown for full-time employees; additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available.
